Visual identity
Visual Identity Just as your personal identity makes you unique, your brand identity is the special feature of your business that sets you apart from every other Tom, Dick and Harry, Inc. company. It is what makes up your company. When it comes to branding, what you see is what you get. At least, that is what customers will feel. They will have no reason to give a brand a bad visual. It is up to the brand to earn that kind of trust in the brand. “What you see” is the brand’s visual identity.
Your brand identity is what makes you instantly recognizable to your customers. Your audience will associate your brand identity with the product or service you offer them. This identity is what shapes the relationship between you and your customers, builds customer loyalty, and determines how your customers will see your brand. "You can see it here."
What is visual identity?
Visual identity is all the images and graphic information that express the brand's identity and distinguish it from others. In other words, it describes everything that customers can actually see, from the logo to the interior design of the store.
Visual identity often culminates in the development of a brand style guide that provides consistent guidelines on how the brand should be visually represented at all times and in any situation.
The purpose of visual identity is to:
Your brand identity consists of a few basic elements:
These elements are what define your brand, and before you start building your brand identity, it's important to have a clear understanding of each one.
Visual identity elements
Typography is the shape or style of text you use in your branding. There are many different types of fonts and each can have a different impact on the viewer, including varying degrees of legibility. For visual identity purposes, you'll want to think about your logo's wordmark, the headline font and the body copy font (which should be more legible).
Color is used to identify a brand through a scheme (generally no more than three colors are recommended) of very specific hues, shades, and tints.
Images are the element that most resonates with the target audience because people empathize with faces and naturally want to see themselves reflected in the brands they consume.
Graphics, in the context of visual identity, are image assets that are drawn or designed. They can be as simple as shapes. Consider a Lego brick or a Coca-Cola bottle and how these distinctive silhouettes represent their respective brands. Or they can be more complex, such as a logo, icons, or even full-scale illustrations or animations, and our designers can create the perfect logo for your brand.
